Investment News Publisher Seeks Entry-Level Editorial Staffer

We are searching for a talented, entry-level editorial staffer to help in the growth of the Financial Publications Group at Eagle Publishing Inc., in Washington, D.C., conveniently located a block from Union Station.

The right person for this job will have a chance to use an array of skills that will create opportunities for professional growth as we launch new products and services to aid investors.
Responsibilities include editing, writing, tracking the performance of our experts' investment recommendations with Excel spreadsheets, as well as performing important web-related tasks such as posting time-sensitive stock market trading alerts, investment newsletters and other content for distribution to our subscribers. This position offers the opportunity to assume additional responsibilities as we grow and your skills are demonstrated.

Qualifications include: 

  • Detail-oriented editing, copyediting, writing and reporting skills that will be cultivated further.
  • Capability of working quickly and accurately to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with the stock market and financial language, as well as a high level of competence with numbers.
  • A strong desire to help people with their investments and to provide compelling content for them.
  • Comfortable working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word and Excel.

Advertising Sales Administrator

The Human Events Group has an Advertising Sales Administrator position available in our Washington, DC office. This sales support position provides administrative support to our Account Executives for print, digital and email marketing products. The Advertising Coordinator supports the Account Executives by performing the following duties:

  • Conducting sales research when necessary.
  • Distributing sales communications and assisting with the development of presentations and proposals.
  • Booking ad space; creating insertion orders and working with other departments (including Ad Ops, Marketing, Accounting, E-business) as necessary to facilitate sales
  • Primary administrator of CRM (Salesforce.com) for Account Executives and Director
  • Manages relationship with Advterising Operations vendor/partner (Zedo)
  • Providing customer service support for print and digital products by answering inquiries
  • Work with colleagues in Marketing to maintain sales resources and advertising media kits

Requirements:

  • Organized self-starter and motivated learner
  • Strong attention to detail and dedication to exceeding the needs of our customers, organization and colleagues in a timely, accurate and highly responsive manner
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively collaborate in an open and candid environment with co-workers and customers
  • Listens and shares information and ideas in a clear, concise manner
  • Strong media math and computer skills including Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, PowerPoint, and Sales Force
  • Works in a proactive manner to make a difference for our customers by “going the extra mile”
  • Advertising, marketing, and sales-support experience required
  • College degree required (equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for degree)
