Jr. Accountant


Responsibilities:
  • Processes all credit card payments received daily from Human Events and Financial Pub subscriptions, Geopolitical advertising, and Regnery BDF sales.
  • Scans and deposits all checks received through the mail daily.
  • Prepares and balances the detailed and summary daily deposit reports from credit cards processed, checks received, the lock box report, the retail lock box report, and the credit card authorization report.
  • Prepares the weekly cash report comparing the current week with prior year cash receipts
  • Processes all credit card refunds received daily from Human Events and Financial Pub subscriptions, Geopolitical advertising, and Regnery BDF sales.
  • Inputs Regnery BDF invoices and Geopolitical advertising insertion orders into the Oracle A/R billing system.
  • Prints and mails invoices to clients for A/R due.
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Serves as the primary back up for the Accounts Payable Clerk.
  • Cross train with staff accounting positions to serve as secondary back up.
  • Other responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Solid Oracle and Excel knowledge
  • Understands principles of Financial Accounting/GAAP
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent record keeping and organization skills
  • Experience with bank and general ledger account reconciliation
  • Experience with preparing cash receipts for deposit
  • Experience with preparing and sending A/R billing
Salary: Commensurate with experience

Marketing Director

Financial newsletter publisher seeks an experienced Marketing Director.

The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented direct marketer with strong analytical skills, adept at multi-tasking and have proven experience in developing and executing fast-paced direct mail and email campaigns. Knowledge of and a passion for personal investing a plus.

Advertisting Operations Coordinator

Geopolitical Division - Human Events.com & Redstate.com

Washington, DC media company seeks an energetic, self-motivated, and detail oriented individual to join our advertising operations team. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical aptitude, strong problem solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.

The Advertising Operations Coordinator will work closely with the advertising sales team to insure that all advertising campaigns are properly executed and reported on in a timely manner. This dynamic position gives the ideal candidate an opportunity to work closely with members of Ad sales, E-business, accounting, and IT to maintain advertising products across all of our digital properties.

Responsibilities:
  • Setup, optimize, and execute all digital advertising campaigns, including premium and remnant/house campaigns
  • Traffic/collect creative materials from ad clients for various digital display formats (gif/jpg, flash, HTML, Text, video)
  • Act as liaison between our E-business team and our Ad sales team for all digital advertising campaigns
  • Assist in tracking of performance of all advertising campaigns for 3rd party clients and internal purposes
  • Assist Account/Marketing Managers with analyzing and reporting on campaign performance
  • Accurately report all sales revenue to accounting department in a timely manner
  • Oversee remnant advertising inventory across various digital channels
  • Manage Salesforce.com ad trafficking interface and work-flow
Qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to problem-solve creatively
  • Ability to create and maintain strong relationships (internal and external)
  • An absolute eye for details. Someone who will notice little problems and fix them quickly
  • Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical people.
  • Strong knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite is a must (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Strong quantitative/analytical skills and ability to work with Excel and database software
  • Desire to learn more about digital advertising and the online media business as a whole
  • Prior experience with ad serving software and CRM database software is a plus
  • Some knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and Flash is a plus

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the stock market and financial newsletter publishing.
